This will be an ideas exchange where speakers will share strategies, tools and findings that they have found to effectively raise the attainment of disadvantaged pupils and diminish the difference between them and their peers.
One of our speakers is the Executive Head of Maiden Erlegh School, a Key Stage 4 finalist for the past two years, in the Department for Education's Pupil Premium Awards. They were KS4 South East Regional winners for the school which most effectively used the pupil premium grant to improve the life chances of disadvantaged pupils.
We will finish with a workshop session to enable group work and discussion amongst participants.

Emily Waddilove (Teaching & Learning Advisor)
Emily works for the Wokingham Borough Council school improvement team, with a focus on 'diminishing differences' for vulnerable pupils. Emily has learnt much about the 'diminishing the differences' agenda through her work with schools which includes support for pupil premium leaders, conducting pupil premium reviews, and facilitating CPD. During the last academic year she was part of an HMI-led working group focussing on disadvantaged learners.
